Miron glass oil bottles
Foods & apothecary in Miron® glass

Foods & Apothecary

Packaging for food products, ingredients, spices and herbs needs to protect quality and attract customers.

Looking for UV glass jars, dark glass jars or olive oil bottles? Taste, aroma and appearance can all change over time, and light is one of the factors involved. Miron® glass is a violet glass designed to selectively filter light, helping you manage that exposure.

What food and drink brands look for

01

Light affects what you carefully create

Natural oils, herbs and spices can change with light over time. Miron glass helps manage one of the factors that affects colour, aroma and flavour.

02

Packaging that reflects the care inside

Artisan and premium foods deserve a pack that looks the part on the shelf and in the kitchen.

03

Protection is a complete system

Jars and bottles paired with matching lids, pourers and seals help protect the product from filling to the last serving.

Guidance for food packaging

Is Miron® glass safe for food?

Glass is inert: it doesn't release anything into your product or absorb anything from it, so it won't affect taste or aroma. Check each product page for closure food-contact information.

Why choose glass over plastic for food?

Glass doesn't leach chemicals into food, it's waterproof and gas-proof, and it's fully recyclable. Plastic also doesn't filter light in the way Miron glass is designed to.

Can I store liquids in apothecary jars?

We don't recommend it. Liquids are hard to pour from apothecary jars and there's a slight risk of leaking. They're ideal for spices, tea, solid honey, vitamins and other dry goods.

Can I seal jars for dry goods?

Yes. Our pressure-sensitive seals work with jars for dry products. They aren't suitable for liquids.

How is Miron® glass different from amber or green glass?

Amber and green glass filter part of the spectrum. Miron glass creates a different light environment, designed around selective filtration.

Can I get a sample first?

Yes. Request a sample to test Miron glass with your own product before ordering.
